Hi Jukka,
I have installed Oracle Corporation: 1.8.0_20 (Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server 
VM) on my computer and OpenJUMP opens and runs fine with it. Does anybody know 
features which are most likely to have issues with jre8 and which should be 
tested?

I'm not aware of any compatibility issue that java 8 could bring,
but I know that there are still some issues with java 7. Java7 has
a more strict semantic than before for sorting objects, and it
happens that OpenJUMP throws an exception with the following
message :
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException:Comparisonmethod violates its general contract|!|

I haven't a reproducible test case yet,
