Hi Peppe, You probably already know this, but the Alt, Control, and Shift key combinations are already defined for most cursor tools. They are used for what is referred to as the "quasimodes", which are shortcuts for the Zoom (Alt), Pan (Alt-shift), and Feature Info (Alt-Ctrl). It is possible to create modes for Shift and Control without the Alt as is done by the Draw Constrained Polygon tool. However, since many users seem to be unaware of the "hidden" capability of drawing holes in selected polygons, I would be more in favor of making separate tools that are more "discoverable" to perform these functions.
just my two cents, Larry On 8/17/07, Giuseppe Aruta <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi, > actually DrawPolygon tool on "Editing Toolbox" has two > functions: > 1) Draw polygons > 2) if a Polygon is edit, it draw holes on it. > > Would it be possible to have a third option like > "drawing an island" (cutting the selected polygon)? > There is a plugin available (OJ the merge) but it > wuold be nice to have this function embedded on OJ > (maybe using CTRL or ALT keys on the previous > Drawpolygon tool). > > Regards, > > Peppe > > > ___________________________________ > L'email della prossima generazione?
