oh.. by the way:
if error appears, sometimes also a button on the top toolbar flashes
yellow (not only the text field in the lower left). If you press the
button, then a new window pops up, which often shows some more
information on the errors.

Hei Nicolas,
I tracked the problem down:
a) the folder that must be generated was for me:
C:\Program Files (x86)\etc\ (having a 64bit machine)
so for you it could be
C:\Program Files\etc\ (having a 32bit machine)
putting the files in the existing \openjump\etc\ seems not work for
windows.
b) after you have download the files from lizardtech you need to rename
them. It seems like LizardTech changed the names recently.
rename:
mrsidgeodecode_win.exe to mrsiddecode.exe
mrsidgeoinfo_Win.exe to mrsidinfo.exe
in general, plugins for the original JUMP should work with OpenJUMP. But
it may appear that a funtionality exists twice in the menu, or OJ may
not start up if the same "class" exists twice. The latter depends in the
integration of the plugin code.
cheers,
stefan
I hope your roadmatcher works. This could be another problem. (never
tried it)

Hi Stefan. Thanks for getting back to me. I did follow the instructions
on the wiki page, but still having the same problem. I also restarted
JUMP and my machine after copying the files. My first attempt at this
was on the OpenJUMP Version 1.2 D. I have also tried it on the older
JUMP version 1.2.
On the OpenJUMP 1.2 D, I only get the Null Pointer Exception, that is
the only error message I see. It pops up in the little output window
and says: AddSIDLayerPlugIn Exception:java.lang.NullPointerException. I
am using the ISA Plugin downloaded from Sourceforge, but you make it
sound like the ISA is only for the original Jump. Is this the correct
plugin for OpenJUMP or should I be using something else?
I am also trying the ISA Plugin for the Original JUMP, but I am getting
an error saying the MrSID drivers are not available. I have followed
all instructions for this as well, but no luck.
Hopefully this makes sense. Thanks for your help!!!!

In order not to let this fine mailing list die, here's a copy of
Stefan's answer:
Hei Nicolas,
seems a bit tricky problem. And I need to ask some questions:
. did you do what is written here:
http://openjump.org/wiki/show/Layer
. Did you restart OpenJUMP after copying the files?
. What version of OpenJUMP are you using?
. Except the null pointer exception, can send the compelete error
message?
Btw. it may be worth to try the ISA-plugin that was intended to work
with the Original JUMP. The ISA plugin contains the MrSID plugin as
well.

Hi. I am attempting to run the MrSID plug-in and am getting the
"AddSIDLayerPlugIn Exception:java.lang.NullPointerException" error.
I
installed it just as the documentation says, but when I go to the add
MrSID layer tool, I get the error. I installed the mrsiddecode.exe
and
mrsidinfo.exe and created a TEMP folder. Everything seems to work
fine
right up until I actually add a layer, when I click the MrSID to be
added, the message pops up. I am very new to OpenJump (and JAVA), I
came across it as I was looking for a conflation tool and the
RoadMatcher seems to be exactly what I need, but I would like to have
some background images as I do the conflation.
Please let me know what I can do or look for to fix this. And let me
know if you need more info for me, like I said I'm pretty new, but
I'll
see what I can do!
