Basically the 4 different types of FPC relate only to the maximum capacity of the PICs they hold. Roughly this is:
FPC1 - 800Mbit/s FPC2 - 2.5Gbit/s FPC3 - 10Gbit/s FPC4 - 40Gbit/s Its not quite that simple because the actual performance is in layer 3 packets per second, so, for example, there is a 4 port FPC2 GigE PIC which has a total of 4Gbit/s of network facing capacity. For full details of the PICs that are available and their functionality, have a look at the router PIC guides on the Juniper documentation area - e.g. http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/hardware/m7i/m7i-pic/frameset.html Or http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/hardware/m320/m320-pic/frameset.html Hope this helps Michael > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of George Amen > Sent: 20 December 2006 20:33 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Cc: juniper-nsp@puck.nether.net > Subject: Re: [j-nsp] Getting Started: FPC Types and > functionality differences > > > Thanks J, > So this tells me which PIC/FPC fits in which T/M model, > perfect.
