Hi all,

I have a question regarding load balancing. I have three PEs, namely PE1, PE2
and PE3. They all have CPEs connected to them for the same VPN. MPLS and VPN
operation is working fine. I am trying to achive loadbalancing by using
different route distinguishers. I have a static route "1.1.1.1/32" in this VPN
on both PE1 and PE2. PE1 and PE2 have different route distinguishers to make
these routes distinct.

In PE3's BGP configuration both PE1 and PE2 are in the same group which has
multipath enabled. When i examine the output of "show bgp neighbor ..." i see
multipath option for both PEs. In addition to this, i have load-balance per
packet policy under routing options -> forwarding options.

Unfortunately only one of the routes is getting installed. The output of show
route table VPN 1.1.1.1/32 extensive yields "Inactive reason: Router ID". I can
not figure out what is missing or if multipath is an applicable approach to
this issue.

Regards.
