1) Download these versions of JUNOS (you need to have a account on
Juniper website) :
https://download.juniper.net/software/junos/8.3R3.4/jinstall-8.3R3.4-domestic-signed.tgz
https://download.juniper.net/software/junos/8.2R4.5/jinstall-8.2R4.5-domestic-signed.tgz
2) Transfer them to the router and install 8.3 version
> request system snapshot (to have on the hard disk a copy of your system)
> request system software add jinstall-8.3R3.4-domestic-signed.tgz reboot
3) Install the 8.2 version :
> request system software add jinstall-8.2R4.5-domestic-signed.tgz reboot
4) If all is correct you can do a backup of your new system on the hard
disk :
> request system snapshot

Be careful there is a big difference between the 8.2 and 8.5 version
(the FreeBSD version is not the same). I think you have to first
downgrade to a 8.3 or 8.4 version and after downgrade to 8.2R4.5.
