Does Juniper have a command to configure a static route for multicast RPF
lookup ???
It's not as simple as on Cisco..
Check out here how to configure PIM to use something else than inet.0
for its lookups:
http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/software/junos/junos93/swconfig-multicast/configuring-a-pim-rpf-routing-table.html
Essentially you'll need to copy the unicast routes to another RIB as
well, configure PIM to use that RIB and add static route under that
RIB only.
Another alternative commonly used in multicast-enabled NREN networks
(and maybe elsewhere) is to only define a multicast-only RIB
including only those routes that are actually multicast-capable as
given by MP-BGP multicast SAFI, static routes, direct routes,
ospf/is-is/, etc. This specifically excludes 98% of 280K internet
routing table that's advertising non-MP-BGP or MP-BGP unicast-only
routes.
