I think there is some rules to observe .. I found in some technical bulletins about " PIC combination rules " for junos versions 10.x ..
"In most cases, you can install PICs of different media types in the M10i router. However, configuration rules might limit certain combinations of PICs. Some PICs of different PIC families cannot be installed in PIC slots 0 and 1, or in slots 2 and 3. If you have different PIC families in the router and are running Junos OS Release 10.2 or later, review the configuration rules to plan which PICs to install in your router. Consult the most recent technical bulletins about configuration rules for PIC combinations on the Juniper Networks Support site at http://www.juniper.net/support/" there is also a great tool called "hardware configuration validation tool" , and it can be found here: http://tools.juniper.net/microcode/manual.do Thanks. > Subject: Re: [j-nsp] Recommandation for PIC slots on m10i routers > From: juniperd...@gmail.com > Date: Wed, 12 Jan 2011 21:38:44 +1100 > To: merye...@hotmail.com > > > Because it doesnt matter at all =) > > Each PIC slot is independent, and has it's own dedicated 1 Gbps/sec FPC > bandwidth.
