Simply applying an 'input-vlan-map pop' and 'output-vlan-map push' on the trunked port (ge-1/3/9) didn't do the job ? I used to have to do that all the time and don't recall encountering problems. The routing-instance encapsulation will need to be 'ethernet' on both sides once you do that.
