Hi Chris,
I'm afraid the installer is a third party product donated to the
project; it usually works pretty well, but when it doesn't we're not able
to help much :-/.
However if you're comfortable with running shell scripts directly, you
can just download the 'project' zip from
http://www.jxplorer.org/downloads/users.html and run the jxplorer.sh script
directly. The installer doesn't really do much more than unpack the zip on
linux anyway :-).
