Hi folks,

This is just to tell you that I have an old installation of Jyve set up and
holding
my Science Fiction book reviews. This is temporarily available at
www.mines-a-pint.com:8088

Hopefully you will approve of this reuse of code to do something it wasn't
originally meant for.

In case anyone is interested this is what I did to my copy of the Jyve code:

Modified navigation bar to include advert. This is to check that I can add
in some
html later on. I don't yet know much about Webmacro or Velocity.

Modified the "language" to a made up language so that I could replace
"Project" by
"Genre", "FAQ" by "Author", "Topic" by "title". This may not be the best
way of doing this
and I may fork off the code one day :-(

um, ah, something else I have forgotten.

Anyway this code is roughly from May 2000 because that is what I last got
working.
and it is running on the latest beta release of Tomcat and a Sun JVM for Linux.

Anyway despite Jon's language I am now interested in helping out and
contributing to
Jyve (but not Turbine). There are various small enhancements that I would
like to see
and it makes more sense to apply them to the main code rather than keep
them to myself.

If anyone would like me to work on any particular aspect of Jyve then give
me an
email and I will grab the latest versions from CVS.

I think I would prefer to have a more experienced opensource developer act
as a cvs proxy for me so that I don't need cvs write permission.
I'd like someone else to check over any enhancements I do and check them in
themselves.
