Hi Daniel,

One way to solve this problem (I don't know whether it really solves
yours) is to set up an additional servlet zone, which has different
configuration-files and different database name. Like this you can run
seperated, independent "Jyves", which can re-use the same binaries
(.jar files/Java classes).

(The other way would be, take Jyve source, make it work there and send
us your diffs...)

For using additional servlet zone, changes have to be made in:
- Create a new, additional database name in your database application
- jserv.conf, jserv.properties: Define and configure new servlet zone
and mount point. Assign a additional <zone>.properties (choose a
  new name) inside jserv.properties.
- <zone>.properties (however you called it): Take a copy of the default
zone.properties and customize it, assign a new
  TurbineResources.properties (choose another name)
- Do the same with your "new" TurbineResources.properties (especially
the database name has to be changed in there)
- run all the initialization scripts for your new database name.
(as described in INSTALL.TXT of Jyve)
This instuctions are most probaly not complete; they are meant to give a
rough idea about.

Hope that approach can solve your problem...

Good luck!

 T: Bernie

PS: If you have only two kind of restrictions you could miss-use the
released feature as an alternative. The more privileged users can
see the all (unreleased and released) items, the less privileged
    ones only released items. ;-)
