OK! Here is what I came up with. Please help out if you see something wrong here...
As suggested by Shean, I BCC myself on all emails and keep the default sent folder. This is not ideal as I then end up with ALL mail sent from K9 on my inbox. Solution is to create a filter rule in Thunderbird. There might be options to do this on other email clients... Match all the following: - Form > is > myem...@mail.com - User-Agent > is > K-9 Mail for Android (or what have you) - Subject > doesn't contain > Re: (this one is created under customize at the bottom of the options) Perform these actions: - Move Message to > Trash on myem...@mail.com With this, any email sent to me from me is put in both inbox and sent folder. If subject contains "Re:", it is part of a thread and left in the inbox. If subject does NOT contain"Re:", it is not part of a thread and therefore erased from the inbox and left on the sent folder.
