K9 works fine on my Tab-S2 also. The battery on my S2 died so I replaced it with the Tab-S6. So port 587 is open, at least for Samsung. I have tried many combinations of settings. The Tab A profile was copied from another Android phone that continues to work. I started using the Tab A about 2 months ago & it was fine until last week. Did you find a cure?I'm using K-9 on a Samsung Tab S2 (Android 7).
