Subject: TheHomeSchoolMom's Free Homeschool Resources Newsletter - Special Edition,
May 15, 2002

Welcome! I would like to give a warm hello to all of the new subscribers to
TheHomeSchoolMom's
Free Homeschool Resources Newsletter, and to say thank you to those of you who have
been
with us for some time. For those of you new to the newsletter, there will not be a
regular issue until late
summer due to our move to the country. Our move takes place next week, then the real
work starts! I
found a great incubator at our local used curriculum sale yesterday, and this time
when we
incubate chick eggs, we will get to keep the chicks. (If you haven't tried this school
activity yet, you are
missing out on a great project. Check with your local county extension office for free
or
low cost loaner incubators.)
I have recently updated the Natural Disasters page on TheHomeSchoolMom to include
almost a dozen
great links with information on tornadoes. Thanks for your patience while we take a
break from regular
newsletter issues, and I will continue to send out great deals or sites of particular
interest as I come across them.

3 Educational Sites & Freebies
LearningPage.com
LearningPage.com is a featured site in TheHomeSchoolMom's Teachers' Lounge,
but it also bears mentioning in the newsletter. I regularly use this site for great
quality
printables for my two young children. Most of the 2500 printable worksheets and books
are suitable for elementary age students. You can find handwriting printables for
Zaner-Bloser,
D'Nealian, and cursive for every letter, plus printable books for early readers and
theme sheets
for common units. In order to take advantage of the whole site you must register, but
registration is
free, quick, and painless. Don't miss this great site!
