THIS WEEK FROM THE LIBRARIANS' INDEX TO THE INTERNET...

In New This Week (the list below, also at http://lii.org/ntw ),

Hobnob with Ishi, Woodie Guthrie, Mary McLeod Bethune, Yiddish theater
and film star Molly Picon, plucky feminist Roxcy Bolton, a bevy of
Jewish women activists, and the 30,000 soldiers who spent the winter at
Valley Forge. Learn more about Muslims, Australian authors, uranium,
Japanese-American internment camps, and size approximations. Explore
poetry and its oxymoron, government publications. Bookmark a list of
Grammar Hotlines for when you is stumped. Finally, remember all who
have served with a site about the Women In Military Service For America
Memorial.

In 36 more sites, in More New This Week (at http://lii.org/mntw ),

Hobnob with Beatrice "Madame" Alexander. Learn more about acronyms,
African American history, the Catholic Church, cancer, chess, green
buildings, and maple syrup. Soothe your eyes with gorgeous
gold-stamped book covers, then browse the 1911 Encyclopedia Brittanica.
Get with the rhythm of taiko (percussive Japanese drum playing), take
a watery ride on the R.M.S. Lusitania, travel to Indonesia, play
tennis in LA, and mull over medieval military history.

Have a safe and fun Memorial Day Weekend!

Karen G. Schneider, Coordinator, lii.org
Martha Gifford, Wendy Hyman, Pat Fell, & Bill Moseley
And over 130 indexers!
