      Information about AmeriCorps and its service programs in
      which volunteers "tutor and mentor youth, build affordable
      housing, teach computer skills, clean parks and streams, run
      after-school programs, and help communities respond to
      disasters." Volunteers are awarded educational stipends after
      completing their term of service. The three AmeriCorps
      programs, State and National, VISTA, and the National
      Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), are administered by
      The Corporation for National and Community Service. On

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary
      Located in Kanab, Utah, the mission of this very large animal
      shelter is "to help bring about a time when there are no more
      homeless pets, and when every cat or dog who's ever born
      can be guaranteed a good home with a loving family." The
      site provides an overview of this refuge for unwanted,
      abused, sick, or elderly adoptable animals. There are stories

The Cold War Era Civil Defense Museum
