NEWSLETTER HIGHLIGHTS

WEBCREATE TIPS WELCOME
======================
Celebrate autumn with October's Best Sites, an easy fall content idea,
and a few more tips about the new WebCreate.

Did you know that we have added new images to the Clip Art Directory?
Take a look at the newly organized categories -- you're sure to find
images that are perfect for your website. And now that we've increased
your Image Library storage space to 10MB, you can add a lot more images
than before.

Stay informed with all that's happening at MySchoolOnline by updating
your
contact information. We've noticed that many WebCreate users have
outdated email addresses listed in their accounts. To receive important
email updates about your account, please make sure to include a current
email address in the Edit Your Account section under Site
Administration. System Directors and Site Publishers must also update
the Site Profile.

Sincerely,
Your Friends at MySchoolOnline

NEW FEATURES
============
We have built new linking features into the WebCreate tools, so you can
proudly display links in the left-side navigation to the MySchoolOnline
websites of your school, district, or classrooms.

Class sites can include a link called "Our School Website." Schools can
include "Our District Website" and "Staff & Faculty" links to connect to
their district's MySchoolOnline site and to connect to any or all
classes in the school. District sites can display a "Schools" link for
MySchoolOnline schools in their district. In all cases, the Site
Publisher now decides which links to display and which to hide. These
links should make it easier for visitors to navigate between related
class, school, and district sites.

Learn more about managing links to associated sites in the "WebCreate
User
Guide."

BEST SITE SHOWCASE
==================
Each month MySchoolOnline showcases one class, school, community, and
PTA
website built with the WebCreate tools. The Best Sites are
MySchoolOnline's
prime examples of how the WebCreate tools can be used creatively to
integrate technology and education.

October's Best Sites are Dr. B's Homepage, Our Lady of Grace School,
INSPRA, and Riverdale Elementary PTO. Read more about these websites at
the Best Site Showcase.

=========================
EFFORTLESS AUTUMN CONTENT
=========================
A valuable feature of WebCreate is the Content Connection, which allows
you to easily add seasonal activities and supplemental articles to the
content on your site. In a matter of minutes you can fill your website
with autumn activities and printables for October, Columbus Day,
Halloween, and Thanksgiving!

Visit the Content Gallery section of the Content Connection, and create
an
Autumn Folder on your website. The articles are marked by grade and are
great for the classroom, or for the student to do at home.

Add a timely Quick Content page to your site, too! The Imagination
Station
presents hands-on activities that celebrate the seasons with a focus on
art and science. With a new activity every week, your students will
enjoy studying the changing leaves, decorating a pumpkin man, creating
creepy party treats, and making a mosaic or pinecone turkey.

To help you keep your site organized, you now have the ability to create
multiple levels of Folders (i.e., Folders within Folders). You'll find
that
organizing Content Connection articles into Folders keeps your site neat
and easy to navigate, and prevents your Welcome Page from getting too
long and too complicated.

For example, you can create an Autumn Folder, with a link that appears
in the left-side navigation. Within that Folder, you might have Folders
for each of the fall holidays (e.g., Columbus Day, Halloween, and
Thanksgiving), and within each of those Folders, you could organize
Content Gallery articles. After the season is over, simply Save the
Autumn Folder, and visitors will no longer see the Folder as part of
your site. You can easily Save and Publish the Folder next fall, to post
the autumn content on your site again.
