Click Here: http://tfk.grassroots.com/KBP/Ad28/ -- --Introduction-- I don't have any new lesson plans this month as planned, but I do have a good newsletter for you nonetheless! This is actually the September newsletter that was delayed until now. You can expect another newsletter near the end of this month. For that update I hope to have some new lesson plans added! --We're Hiring!-- Well, we're hiring for a small part-time position anyway! If you would like to help work on this great teacher resource, please send me an e-mail to let me know you're interested! The job would initially involve adding lesson plans to the website once a month. Each month would require 1 to 4 full days of work (usually 2-3). You'll be able to work from home (provided you have a good computer and Internet access). Pay would start at $8 per hour and would quickly move to $10 per hour once it's determined that the arrangement is working well. The ideal candidate will: -have strong HTML skills and PC skills -be a teacher, have a degree in education, or perhaps a college student in education -live near the Kansas City area (not required, but helpful) --New Educator Discussion Forums-- In case you missed last month's newsletter, we recently added an educator discussion forum for you to ask questions of other educators, share ideas with each other, discuss current school issues and events, and much more! The forums are still just getting started. I encourage you to visit the forums and post some questions / respond to question to help get the ball rolling! You can enter the forums here: http://www.LessonPlansPage.com/forums/ --Vote For LessonPlansPage.com-- Show your support for LessonPlansPage.com and vote for the site simply by clicking on the links below: http://www.sitesforteachers.com/perl/rankem.pcgi?id=EdScope http://teachers.teach-nology.com/cgi-bin/bestof/topsites.cgi?lessonplans p Please consider voting each time you visit the site. Voting for us helps other teachers to find out about this site! You can vote at each of the links above as often as once a day. The more you vote, the more likely other teachers are to find out about LessonPlansPage.com! --Special Education-- American Teachers has assembled a special education resource portal dedicated to improving the education and lives of students and loved ones with exceptionalities, disabilities, and the gifted. We hope it will help. Please, let us know what you think. http://www.LessonPlansPage.com/news/sponsor.pl?banner=atnews03 --Halloween, Columbus Day Lesson Plans-- Halloween is getting close! The lesson plans at the URL below will help you prepare! You'll find quite a few lesson plans and ideas there! http://www.LessonPlansPage.com/Halloween.htm October 14th is Columbus Day. Currently there's only 1 lesson plan and one idea, but perhaps they will be helpful. You can find them here: http://www.LessonPlansPage.com/ColumbusDay.htm If you have more of your own to add, you can use the form here to add them to LessonPlansPage.com: http://www.LessonPlansPage.com/submit.html --Featured Thematic Unit-- Since fall is a great time to see the beauty of our National Parks, I decided to feature a small National Parks unit. The three parts include Creating a National Park Brochure, Mapping a trip to a National Park, and Saving a National Park. You can access all three from the first part, listed below: http://www.LessonPlansPage.com/SSOMDNationalParkUnit1-CreateParkBrochure s46.htm Keep in mind, the address is case-sensitive, so "park" is not the same as "Park" in the URL above. If the URL wraps to two lines, you may need to type the entire URL into your browser. --Featured Educational Link-- I found A to Z Kids Stuff to be a helpful site with great activities for young children (including toddlers), Rainy Days activities, articles on many different topics (particularly handling childhood problems), a freebies section, and much more. Take a look at the address below! http://www.AtoZKidsStuff.com --Working On Newsletter Software-- We have recently upgraded our newsletter software. Unfortunately, it isn't working perfectly yet. Once our newsletter software is functioning properly, we will be able to personalize our newsletters. --Coming Soon-- Later this month we plan to add additional lesson plans to the site. We'll send another newsletter when these new lesson plans are ready! --That's All For Now!-- Thanks for being a part of The Lesson Plans Page! You will receive another message next time we make a major update or have other news to share. Take care, --Kyle Yamnitz The Lesson Plans Page: http://www.LessonPlansPage.com/ ************************************************************************* NOTE: Gleason Sackmann is the owner and host of this list.
