VK: Hello! Three quick answers: 1. I wanted to let the user change the type in case the auto-detect didn't work correctly on some new device for some reason. For instance, if I'm running a Linux web server with port 80 open, our scheme may detect this box as an appliance. I wanted to give the user the ability to change it to something else. If a user changes the type here, it should not affect the group position they put the icon in. It should only affect what icons are available for selection in the dropdown.
2. If they change it to something else, I then wanted to give them the ability to "go back" to the original. So, I added the "autodetect" button, which essentially is a repeat of the process which gave it the icon to begin with. Otherwise, yes, this process only runs once per device. 3. I'll send the icons that I have. Some still need work, as they're drawn with the wrong colormap, the wrong background, the wrong transparent RGB, etc. Takes me about 20 minutes to get an icon group correct.
