Heyaz. This is an announcement that version 0.90 of the
Kaboodle LAN-Management utility for Windows has been released.
Zowee. :)
Kaboodle is similar to other "VNC helper" applications
like VNC Manager and ZebeDee. It distinguishes itself by being
a collection of many smaller utilities, all in one place (hence
it's name). I hope some of you find that it makes your VNC
experience easier.
Improvements from version 0.80 include:
1. Secure file-transfer. Optional per-transfer permission, or
per-machine access control. Pretty fast too.
2. Improved LAN population discovery and VNC server discovery
with OS detection of discovered devices.
3. If you have WinPCAP installed, Kaboodle will use it to
passively sniff LAN traffic to auto-discover any network
newcomers. Useful in a Wireless-LAN in many ways. :)
4. VPN control-channel active now. Data-channel coming in 1.0.
For secure'ifyng VNC, the encrypted tunneling capability
is still limited to same-LAN traffic right now. Version 1.0 will
feature the secure "VNC proxy" capability mentioned before.
