Dear Sir
I would be interested in KaboodleProxy if it is now
available to run under WindowsXP. My understanding is
that is has not been ported there yet.
The reason I need this is that I am unable to get
GetEngaged to link my home LAN to my office LAN as I
had hoped it would.
I have done the port forwarding through the Linksys
router (to DSL) at the office and the Compaq CP-2W
Wireless router (to cable Modem) at home.
The only snags seem to be that at home, the Compaq
CP-2W will not allow port forwarding above 9000 (port
number), so I used 1196 instead of 11965. I set this
also in the VPN services Advanced Screen at both
sites.
Also at home, I can set the PC as the master node on
the Network Properties screen, but when I try to set
it on the PC properties System Info tab, the checkbox
is ghosted (or a couple of times it showed up active,
I check it and then when I reopen the tab, it is
unchecked and ghosted).
Finally when I try to GetEngaged under VPN, I choose
the partner (office LAN) and Automatic (also have
tried specifying the Interned Address), it tries to
connect, but fails. I have tried this multiple times,
both from the office LAN to Home LAN, and vice versa.
Your documentation is pretty good, I have been over it
multiple times and find no other hints as to what may
be going wrong.
ANY SUGGESTIONS??
THANK YOU

networking experience * 20 yrs. (well OK 30 yrs -- I'm
getting older)
