I needed the method clear() (since 1.4) to compile KJC with kjc.jar with kaffe (It is not guaranteed that KJC can be compiled with KJC, but it is usually the case that KJC can be compiled with the same version of KJC). Guilhem's patch to KJC 2.1B may have made this unnecessary.
