Are you triging 1.1.7 from pkgsrc/wip/kaffe ?
If not, you should try ising wip: the package contains the useful
configuration bits to get it working on netbsd (and probably also wrong
choices). For instance, you have to use
--with-gc=kaffe-gc --disable-boehm-gc-configuration
to aboiud the problem with boehm-gc configure phase : the boehm-gc in
kaffe tree is not netbsd ready
