One quick solution for viewing is to save the Excel file as HTML and then hyperlink it.  There are advance solutions based on tags.

[KCFusion] Using a web browser to change a file

A very basic question, but I've never tried this. Our developers want to make an Excel file
available on our intranet. They asked: if they can click a link and see an Excel file in their
browser, then can they also change it? I had never tried that. So we uploaded the file, and I set
the permissions on the file itself so that everyone including system accounts have full control.
Then we opened it via a standard hyperlink and tried to save changes. No luck. Is this possible?
