Dave,

I have used Professional but I will be going with the Developer edition
in the future.
Go here for more info on the differences between editions, licensing
etc, please note I have not upgraded to this edition.

No do not use the CFREPORT tag (even if it still supported, you will
lose a lot of the features that Crystal provides. Basically you have
your CF data input form and your action form (which likely does a
insert into a table) and then passes off the request to the Crystal
Report Page Server (most likely located on the machine your CF server
is).
Your report has the table links, queries and so forth contained in it,
so the logic is handled by the report itself.

This is a very very basic overview,
Ron.

I'm going to forward your request to our local CF group in Kansas City.
I
know there are a bunch of people there who could help.
