I think there is a way in CF to spit out the day of the week (Tuesday), and you could check on it and then once you sync on a certain day of the week, add 7.
HOWEVER...to make things easier, there is a distinct formula for calculating the day of the week. I don't know off the top of my head what it is, but it shouldn't be hard to find on the web, possibly already tweaked for CF. Using a set of known start dates and the formula, one can calculate the day of the week for any date within a couple hundred years of now (it fails if you go past the 1400s when the Julian calendar changed).
