Hi Guys,

I know this is a CF list, but I'll bet many of you, like me, dabble in
ASP, too. If not, please pass along to your friends in the ASP world.

We're in the early stages of trying to hire a web developer to work with
me on our large and fast-growing community of book lovers
(http://www.bookcrossing.com/) and eventually replace me as lead
developer, maintaining the site and db and adding new features. Job
would be full-time and work would be done from home, with regular f2f
meetings at my home office in Lake Winnebago, MO (5 mi south of Lee's
Summit on 291).

Must-haves: ASP/VB/MS-SQL Server/HTML/KC-area residence/fast
connection/self-motivated

Experience: At least 3 years intimate knowledge of ASP/IIS/MS-SQL. I
don't have time for hand-holding, so you should be able to jump in and
figure out code and complex queries on your own, using plain-text
editors. You should have experience with both community-type websites
(forums, dynamic content, etc.) and e-commerce systems.

Would be nice: DHTML/User Interface Design/creativity/love of
books/appreciation of the BookCrossing ethos

Additional duties: strong written communication skills will be
necessary, as the position will include handling of member support email
and advanced questions in our forums. We're a small organization, so
everyone is expected to multitask to some extent.

Salary: negotiable, based on experience.
