I have a pair of DLINK AP900+ units. They can be configured in several modes, including AP, Client, Bridge, Repeater.
I'm using W2000 Pro, but would like to switch to Linux as soon as I have a wireless link set up. Couldn't get them to talk to each other. They had non-matching firmware, so I downloaded the latest firmware and both are at v2.61. I plugged them both into a DLINK router, and both were visible with the DLINK configurator software. I set one up as an access point, the other as a client, pointing it to the MAC address of the Access Point. The lights on both of them began blinking in synch with the network traffic on the router. I unplugged the client and plugged my computer into it, expecting it to work. No go. I switched them from DHCP to static IP. Still no go. I configured them to act as a wireless bridge, pointing to each other's MAC addresses. Still no go. The light clearly blinks in time with the router, even on the unit which is not connected to the router, but I cannot get to my broadband through them. What else do I need to do? I'm offering a home-cooked meal including entertaining conversation with my three-year-old son in exchange for an expert to get these working or declare one officially dead. -Jared
