I am new the Linux, but since I need to be able to debug a driver module, I tried to patch a 2.4.20-8 kernel to add kdb.
I started with the command - "patch -b -p1<kdb-v4.3-2.4.20-common-1" but after it patched 3 files, I got the following - "Patching file kernel/ksyms.c Reversed (or previously applied) patch detected! Assume -R? [n]" Is that because my kernel comes from a RedHat distribution? and anyway - what do I now? (I know someone asked the exact same question on the list more than a year ago, but the only reply I saw was a couple of questions - "Which kernel were you patching? Which patch were you applying?")
