            Bug ID: 497534
Summary: Muted Video Tracks Should Not Consume CPU
    Classification: Applications
           Product: kdenlive
           Version: 24.08.3
          Platform: Ubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Timeline & Editing
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Muted tracks seem to consume CPU when the timeline is playing. To fully
eliminate CPU use, it seems entire clips must be manually disabled.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Place several clips and nested sequences on the timeline with FX, in a
single video track
2. Place a dummy video clip on another track 2
3. Mute the video track 1
4. Play the timeline

OBSERVED RESULT
Note that track 1 continues to consume heavy CPU after being muted.

EXPECTED RESULT
Once track 1 is muted, it should not consume any CPU even if its clips are
enabled.
