So if I: 1. have "Use common display style for all folders" 2. change display to details 3. change setting to "Remember display style for each folder" What this does is it utilizes the old setting you may have set for the folder. The correct way to make sure all folders use same display style is from the Adjust view display style menu: 1. set it to your liking 2. apply to "All folders" and/or check the "use as default view settings" 3. click OK This makes sure the metadata that is used by dolphin gets updated. The Use common display style for all folders uses different metadata for this to make sure if you switch between the settings, the old settings wont disappear.
