Bug ID: 500878
Summary: Sleep with keyboard shortcut triggers sleep again on
the next waking up
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version: 6.0.4
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: Power management & brightness
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
I have set a shortcut for sleep (Meta + S), and if I put the PC to sleep using
this shortcut, when I wake the PC up with a key press (any key), the computer
goes back to sleep right away. This happens on my desktop with two different
different USB keyboards (both connected to the same USB hub).
My guess is that somehow the shortcut key press before the sleep is sent to the
PC again when it wakes up, so Plasma thinks I pressed the sleep shortcut again
and puts the PC to sleep.
I am not sure on how many PC's this happens, but if it can be fixed without too
much efforts, I wish it gets fixed. For example, it could have some sort of
guard period where the sleep shortcut is ignored, when the PC is waking up from
sleep, like 1 second.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set a shortcut for sleep
2. Put the PC to sleep using the shortcut
3. Press any key to wake the PC up.
OBSERVED RESULT
The computer goes back to sleep right away.
EXPECTED RESULT
The computer wakes up.
