            Bug ID: 501332
Summary: wish - temporary zoom during cropping
    Classification: Applications
           Product: digikam
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Plugin-Bqm-Crop
          Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: mke...@pigfy.de
  Target Milestone: ---

I would like to suggest the following idea/request: For over 20 years, I have
been working professionally with the commercial image database IMS from Imagic.
To better select the start and end points of measurement tasks in images, there
is a digital zoom at the push of a button. As long as the Shift key is pressed,
the area around the current mouse position is digitally magnified to 100%. In
this magnified view, the cursor can be positioned precisely.

Currently, I have to manually crop many images, and such a button could
significantly improve the result in digikam: pressing a button magnifies the
image to 100% as soon as the mouse is in the upper right or lower left corner,
or... and I can precisely select the corner for cropping.

I was able to implement similar functionality in ImageJ/Fiji using GenAI, but
having it directly in Digikam would of course be a great improvement.
