Crazy artifacting
Hi,
I understand that the website says to create ways to recreate the issue, but I
am not sure how to. It literally just happens at random times. It is hard to
explain. I'll try my best as I am still relatively new to linux. I'm running
Nobara which is a fork of Fedora
I have a minecraft server that I host and play on with my friends, and running
minecraft seems to create these brutal crashes with artifacting. The screen
will then go black and display some static frame that appeared before the
crash, then go black and show the desktop with a bunch of artifacting and it
repeats this until it eventually recovers. Sometimes this can take a few
minutes, and I just sit there and watch the screen turn on and off with
different artifacts . Sometimes this happens after 5 minutes like today,
sometimes this happens after maybe an hour or two. Even though it recovers from
the crash, its still kinda wonky so I just restart the computer and the cycle
repeats
So let's say I was in my inventory, went somewhere else and then it crashed. It
would show a frame of me in the inventory even though I was somewhere else when
it crashed. I first thought that this is minecraft or maybe java having some
weird interaction with the amdgpu driver or something with kde in a weird way
and crashes, but this same behavior happened today when I was playing warframe.
This now leads me to believe that this is not necessarily a minecraft issue,
maybe it's more like minecraft triggers this crash more often.
This issue has been going on for weeks, and I have been trying small fixes here
and there to see if it helps, but nothing works. I thought the server was
causing this, but it still happened when I had it running on another computer.
A few days ago 6.13.8 came out and seemed to have fixed this problem, until it
happened again last night. then today on warframe, then again when I loaded up
minecraft after. I tried finding where logs are stored but then found out about
journalctl so I ran that and hoped that minecraft would crash again. It did
while it was running, so here is what it logged since I started it. The crash
happened around 20:52

I am sorry that I am not able to explain how to recreate this, since
plasmashell will just crash whenever it wants to. It's hard to reproduce. Maybe
after 5 minutes like today, or maybe after a day or two like after I updated
and the crash last night. Or a week ago when one time it crashed after a couple
hours. If this happened after I did something like pressing a certain button
while something is open, that would be easy to report. But this just happens
whenever. This weird crashing situation also happened before I swapped graphics
cards, and also still happened even when I rolled back to older kernel
versions. Installing git mesa drivers didn't help either. The plasma crash
handler fails to gather information every time this happens, and trying to look
this up on google yields nothing similar to my issue at all. This time, even
the crash handler crashed after trying to automatically gather data. Thats how
hard the crash can be sometimes, and as of right now my entire desktop
environment is black. I have no DE right now and have an image attached of what
the artifacting is like
