--- Comment #104 from d...@newtech.fi --- Have to add that the solution in Comment 47 (Setting the pulse-audio most stupid default changing the master volume together with any slave volume from "yes" to "no") made this bug a lot more tolerable. Now the notification only blasts at 100% x Master volume setting, not 100%x100% setting which killed my ears.
