Bug ID: 505629 Summary: Genre (tag) and multiedit Classification: Applications Product: kid3 Version First 3.9.x Reported In: Platform: Other OS: All Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: uflei...@users.sourceforge.net Reporter: fbourdon...@chez.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 182287 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=182287&action=edit just after pressing "From Tag 2" SUMMARY There is a predefined long list of 'genres' (pop, raggae, slow,.....) Which will never be complete. First a remark, it is ridiculous to have such a long list. Predefined it to max ten general genres. There is no gain of any sort between me typing the name while watching the list, reading, searching. Second you put me in a sort of prison with your list. Keep it short to be usable and let me use my brain to put my genre if needed. Now the bug: A twelve track album Eleven of them have a genre. One have the genre tag blank Multiedit the 12 twelves tracks. The listbox is of no use. It displays the ridiculous long list. EXPECTED RESULT The list box should be smart enough to display at the top of the list the actual choice for the eleven tracks. Because there a lot of chance that the dissident track is same as others. In fact , displaying first each genre found in the twelve tracks is smarter than the long list. -Rock (8) -Pop (3) -A capella -abstract -..... My album is tagged with 'Sahraoui' (except one track) . Tag not listed in the long list. Making this long list box totally useless. Related bug, the function to populate TAGV1 from TAGV2 ('From Tag2') fails with the 'genre' when the genre is not in the long list.
