I didn't experience this bug, I don't use desktop icons and this computer was
clean-installed not long ago.
The only thing I needed to do was the following:
1- Create an app launcher on the desktop (In my case, I went in the Application
launcher, found KWrite, right-click -> Add to Desktop
2- On the desktop, do the following:
a) Right-click -> Icons -> Arrange -> Top to Bottom
b) Right-click -> Icons -> Align -> Right
Then, the icon, for me anyway, is no longer double-clickable.
