Qt 5.8 should have the fix for that crash.
But, you still have a problem with your setup - kactivitymanagerd only crashes
when something requests it to exit - if it does it often, it means that most
likely xcb connection to the X server is getting disconnected all the time.
And that tends to be from driver issues or distribution issues.
