Bug ID: 514189
Summary: Wallet manager crashes when user cancels its creation
and back again that option
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.5.3
Reported In:
Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
Process /usr/bin/kwalletd6 is not terminated when user close Open Wallet
Manager -> "File -> New Wallet" and immediately just close it. Because of that,
when an user back to this option happens issues like crash of Wallet Manager,
so no possibility to create any wallet.
I killed this process manually and I was able to open again "KDE Wallet
Settings" to create new wallet.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Newly created user on fresh system
2. In System Settings open "Color & Themes" -> "Login Screen SDDM" ->
"Behavior..."
3. Mark option "Automatically log in"
4. Press button "Open KDE Wallet Settings"
5. Click "File -> New wallet"
6. Click onto "Colors" in left panel and click discard changes
If this is blocked then maybe firstly I closed Wallet Manager's windows and
then opened "Colors", sorry I don't remember the order
7. Manually close Wallet Manager's windows (main and "New wallet")
8. Click again "Login Screen SDDM" -> "Behavior..."
9. Mark option "Automatically log in"
10. Press button "Open KDE Wallet Settings"
OBSERVED RESULT
Happens nothing or "Wallet Manager" crashes
EXPECTED RESULT
"/usr/bin/kwalletd6" should be terminated in moment when user close window of
"Wallet Manager" -> "New wallet", because no any wallet is created yet and this
prevents the creation of a new wallet
