SUMMARY
Just playing in Garry's Mod and left it running over night and turned off my
surround receiver. After coming back the game appears to crash so I started it
back up and no sound. Note: A couple of days doing this with no sound issues.
Did a sound test in the Sound System Settings with no sound there either.
Checking the sound output from the speaker icon in the panel and the configure
window showing that HDMI is there.
When game is running I see the sound bar moving for sound.
Also, rear analog output device is gone or it changed to digital input S/PIDF.
No S/PIDF output or this change to S/PIDF input.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Sound is a little buggy in default stereo output from HDMI sounds awful to
setting all sounds to HDMI went to wrong output by clinking on the 3 dots and
selecting "Play all audio via this devices".
It's confusing that one HW device jack you can change to digital in, digital
out, analog in, to analog out???
