What seems to be the case is taht when you press cancel, the dbus object gets destroyed. I think one could get arund it by running qdbus $dbusRef and then testing with $? whether it returned 0 (it existsm, so cancel was not pressed) or 2 (it does not exist, cancel was pressed).
