yes the problem is color banding. pure blacks make very dark blob or glitches
on the screen and you are right the icc profile make blacks less noticeable
from other colors.
i have the issue in 2 different screens , a dell s3222dgm and a samsung 7
series -43- -UE43TU7025KXXC HDR
note: the problem is not present on windows or on android boxes.
