Hy <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #2 from Hy <[email protected]> --- Thanks for your feedback, and I'm glad you enjoy using KStars! Using image overlays is more complex than simply putting the images in a folder. Please see the KStars handbook image overlays doc, here's a link to the English page: https://kstars-docs.kde.org/en/user_manual/imageOverlays.html The bottom line is that after you put the images in the dir, you start kstars and then need to plate solve them all. It is semi-automated, but not automatic. Without accurate plate solving, the system doesn't know where exactly they should be placed in the sky, and the proper orientation of the image. Once done, though, the plate solves are "remembered" for future sessions. The doc should walk you through the process. Re the FITS Viewer overlays, yes, I believe they are permanent for the current KStars session, but do not re-appear in your next KStars session.
