BIOS Splash Screen
SUMMARY
I installed the latest KDE Neon onto a brand new Eurocom Blitz Ultra 2
(https://eurocom.com/ec/specs(527)BlitzUltra2) Laptop. Sometimes, when the
laptop boots up, it will stay in the BIOS Splash Screen stuck forever (see
attached image 20260126_120340.jpg).
The way I've been dealing with the issues is to do a hard shutdown (holding the
power button for 10 seconds) and powering back up. I say most of the time, I
need to do a hard shutdown and boot up cycle between 1 to 3 times and the KDE
Neon loads up. Sometimes, after 5 hard shutdown and boot up cycles, it will
stay in the BIOS Splash Screen (when this happens, I just close the lid and
wait at least 30 minutes before turning back on)
I checked the logs files in /var/log and review the logs in journalctl,
however, I don't see anything out of the ordinary.
For the past couple of weeks, whenever I do an Update on Discover and it ask me
to restart and it updates the packages, I say 90% of the time I get a blank
screen on the second restart
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Turn on Laptop
OBSERVED RESULT
Stuck on the Bios Splash Screen without going into KDE Neon
EXPECTED RESULT
Load up KDE Neon everytime I turn on the Laptop
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: KDE neon User Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.22.0
Qt Version: 6.10.1
Kernel Version: 6.14.0-37-generic (64-bit)

Graphics Processor: Intel® Graphics
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This laptop is using the InsydeH2O UEFI BIOS
(https://www.insyde.com/products/insydeh2o/)
Keep in mind, this does not happen all the time.
The only thing plugged into the laptop is the 90w Power Brick and the Ethernet
cable
I have done the following with the Laptop:
- Reseated the NVME/SSD
- Reseated the RAM
- Removed the Laptop Battery and started the laptop
- Put the NVME/SSD with KDE Neon installed, put it in a USB Enclosure and boot
it up
- Installed KDE Neon on another NVME/SSD
As a test, I installed Kubuntu 24.04 (which is using the same Ubuntu LTS
version as the current KDE Neon) and so far, I had no issues being stuck on the
BIOS Splash Screen. Kubuntu loads up everytime
Also, I currently have KDE Neon installed on a few pieces of hardware without
any issues
- HP Prodesk 400
- Asus UX370UAR Laptop
