This is the intended UX. We've gotten complaints before from Windows users
accustomed to using the spacebar to wake up the screen, so you're not the first
to request something like this. But we're not trying to replicate windows here;
we're trying to build something better! So the solution is to retrain yourself.
Here are a few options I can think of:
1. Option 1: wake up the screen with a different key, like a modifier key such
as Ctrl or Shift
2. Option 2: don't bother waking up the screen first before starting to type
your password; just type your password and press Enter. Big time saver!
