           Product: gwenview
      Version First 25.12.1
       Reported In:
          Platform: openSUSE

            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
This is a feature request. I was cropping a load of pictures, and wanted all of
the crops to be the same aspect ratio. Specifically, I wanted to drag an
arbitrary rectangle for the first image, then lock in that aspect ratio (not
the exact number of pixels, but the aspect ratio) for use as a crop rectangle
for the subsequent pictures (which I would reach by using the left and right
arrows in Gwenview). I hoped, but failed, to find a suitable option for this in
the aspect ratio drop-down.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open an image in Gwenview
2. Make sure Show Editing Tools is enabled
3. Click Crop
4. Make sure aspect ratio is currently blank
5. Adjust the crop rectangle to an arbitrary size
6. Look in the aspect ratio drop-down for an option called "Current crop
rectangle" or "Lock current aspect ratio" or similar

OBSERVED RESULT
No such option found.

EXPECTED RESULT
Such an option found.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20260128
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.22.0
Qt Version: 6.10.1
Kernel Version: 6.18.7-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I found a workaround, which was to manually type in the current size of the
crop rectangle as a ratio, so e.g. if width was 527 pixels and height was 215
pixels, I could type in an aspect ratio of 527:215 and that would lock it in as
desired. But I was just hoping for something with just one or two clicks!
