SUMMARY
As the title says, the selection rectangle that you can draw on the desktop
isn't always smooth on high refresh monitor and lags a lot, I have a 144hz
monitor and that selection rectangle is never 144hz and lags many times,
meanwhile on COSMIC the selection rectangle of the desktop doesn't lag and it
always matches the 144hz of my screen.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. hold left click on the desktop to draw the selection rectangle
OBSERVED RESULT
The selection rectangle lags and it's not always smooth on high refresh screens
EXPECTED RESULT
The selection rectangle doesn't lags and it's as smooth as the refresh rate

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
in the screenshot of the issue that I've attached you can see that the
rectangle lags behind the mouse pointer, and sometimes it lags behind by a lot
and it makes it feel choppy and like 60hz
