Hi Anton, we literally released a 3.0 pre-alpha today. You might want to check
if the bug is fixed on there. Check krita.org news posts for this. Also take
the survey linked at the end of the post.
It may be that it doesn't even work at all, but it does contain a few months of
effort to try and fix this problem, and while we know that we're still not
done, it might be a much bigger improvement.
Solutions like hotkeying openGL is something we would very much like to avoid,
because the experience should be seamless.
