SUMMARY

Copy a DVD, iso image already exists, cancel: this is not a Checking Source
Medium failure.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Insert DVD, wait wait unusually long time to read a header, finally the
wrong title appears because of windows dweebs polluting the CDDB database.
2. Click the Copy button. Oops, this one was digitized into iso last week, no,
do not proceed.

OBSERVED RESULT
A popup error window appears Checking Source Medium (Failed) that remains an
annoyance until you click the dratted teeny red button with a X on it.

EXPECTED RESULT
Nothing. I cancelled the copy because I already copied this disc last month in
another storage box. There was no failure, nothing broke, no need for a
persistent error pop-up that doesn't disappear by itself. Why did someone think
it was a smart idea to use an error message when there is no error? A
self-closing Information-severity popup, if one is obsessed with bunging popup
messages all over my desktop. No need to acknowledge the fact that I closed the
copy operation on purpose in the absence of malice. No message needed. Go away
with Checking Source Medium (Failed) /Checking Source Medium when I cancel a
disc copy.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:

This is a violation of the Principal of Least Astonishment. I consider it a
design flaw. A VP Operations, I would have handed the code jockey his mittens
and lunchbox and pointed to the exit.
